In an effort to reduce the amount of money I spend on books, I'm thinking of getting a Kindle. Anyone with views about it one way or another?
You might have trouble finding some of the more academic books you'd want on the Kindle. But for popular works it's great. It has saved me a ton of money, especially on books that I'm too impatient to wait for the paperback edition to come out.

I dismissed the whole idea of an eReader as silly, until Mrs. FLG bought me one for Christmas. Love it since.
I'll echo the point on academic books, but there is a ton of primary source, public domain stuff for free.
Hmmm, I was thinking about buying one for you...
