* I am very, very excited for the soon-to-be rereleased and expanded version of Exile on Main Street. I think everyone (or everyone who pays attention to culture at all) has certain works which are more significant than others, that form a larger part of their psyche, that (at the very far ends) seem to contain the whole universe of possibilities; that's Exile for me, from the story of its creation to the music itself (a radical and one-time departure from how the Stones usually do things). There's an mp3 of one of the unreleased tracks here.
* Not perfect, but works much better than it should: The Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs" (for my money, the best VU song) mashed-up with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Feast your ears.
