The Righteous Gemstones
On Reddit, someone asked the question "which of the characters do you think really believe what they're preaching?". The answer is "all of them": they are comic and ridiculous and prone to staggering displays of egotism, but all of them can recognize when they've done something wrong and try to make it right, and all of them can put themselves aside when someone else is in greater need. Like the man says, being a Christian doesn't make you a good person, it makes you a better person that you would've been otherwise. A humbling enough thought for those who have had it.
