I have mixed feelings about Brooklyn 99, a show I enjoy a great deal, but one that falls too unthinkingly into "cops are good, anyone who doesn't help them is a bad guy, and isn't it cool how they're so determined to break the rules as needed like cool people and not squares?" for these times. The mixed feelings do not extend in any way to Terry Crews, who plays a hyper-masculine dad who takes his role as father to daughters very seriously: being concerned for them, believing they can do whatever they want to, and not worrying in the slightest what indulging them in princesses, tea parties, and the like might mean for his masculinity. Turns out he's an awesome dude in real life, too.
