(I mean, yes, DOMA had congressional support, and congress was controlled by Republicans--though someone should probably make a note of how much Democratic support it had *cough*Joe Biden*cough*. But I suppose we're now forgetting that "don't ask, don't tell" was controversial because it was an incredible loosening of armed forces standards, not because it was anti-gay. I know it's the internet and everyone is hyperbolic all the time, but not all bad things that happened in the past were done by conservatives.)
