The World's Shortest Manifesto

Does anyone else find the stream of things-for-kids-for-adults wearying? Movies based on YA novels, say, or lists of great books for children noted with the suggestion that adults should read them, too. I am just old enough to recall a time when books for kids were adult books, some rather complex: Moby Dick, Huckleberry Finn, anything by Charles Dickens. I am not one (anymore) for suggesting adults should endlessly march through the classics, but trying hard at complex tasks every once in a while seems like a reasonable thing to expect.
