My exposure to Nicki Minaj came from her guest verse on "Monster," so I never quite understood the backlash: she's massively talented, and she wants to get paid. Hip-hop is not, and has never been, punk or indie when it comes to authenticity and credibility; they have their own hobby-horses to beat. Nevertheless, it's good to see that she's now destroying all comers.
