The commute has given me plenty of time to reconnect with those neglected parts of my old CD collection, which has led to no small number of surprises, including this one: One Beat is a really good album, and "Light Rail Coyote" is the MVP of October. As in, significantly better than its rep upon release (which was not very good), and probably the #2 overall Sleater-Kinney album behind Dig Me Out. It also hits the classic rock/punk sweet spot better than the supposedly superior The Woods, lacking, as it does, horrific guitar solos. I mean, I don't even like The Cars, but this is an excellent appropriation of them:
