Adventures in Cultural Consumption:
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp: a serious contender for best British movie ever, something I assumed The Third Man would have no competition for. The Powell/Pressberger m.o. seems to be very boring genre-ish first thirds of movies, and transcendently brilliant final thirds. Considering the final third of this movie is ~50 minutes, quite a feat.
