Somewhere between Brian Cook and Spencer Hall lies the approximate correct response to Joe Paterno's death. I do worry that he will be too quickly rehabilitated, that the Sandusky stuff will be reduced to "a chaotic few months right before he died" and not "a pattern of behavior that lasted well over a decade." Most everyone else seems engaged in the process of forgetting. Which is tragic, but also probably the nature of things: not many people can keep up moral indignation for very long.
