As a man with a tendency to write in a somewhat long-winded manner, Karl Barth has a number of very interesting passages but few highly quotable lines. When he does, though, they're usually a doozy. After discussing Catholic attacks on Reformed theology in the 16th century:
I scarcely need to add that these same controversial points are the source of the recent accusations of determinism and spiritualism leveled at Reformed doctrine. It is entirely appropriate that the Semi-Pelagians and romantics of all ages should find this provocative.
