Very much looking forward to the Wolf Hall miniseries, if only to get the best accurate depiction of Thomas More out there (A Man for All Seasons makes of him a martyr for individual conscience, which is strange given his propensity to kill and torture people for adhering to their individual consciences*). He may have been a saint, but he was definitely a bad human being.
*And it's true to say that there were violations of this on all sides in the 16th century, but of people who had the power to persecute or refrain from persecuting, he was one of the worst. I would take Calvin (whose body count was one) and the other magisterial Reformers in a hot minute over More for reasons that have more to do with basic human decency than theology.
