Other places may brag about being the most beautiful in America, but only Michigan can win a completely subjective vote on a morning talk show.

Seriously, though, Sleeping Bear Dunes is very nice, and makes the Outer Banks look like tiny little piles of sand. And, as Ernest Hemingway could tell you, it's hard to beat Michigan in the summer.

Even I concede it's hard to beat Michigan in summer--any perfect summer day is likened to "June in Michigan."

Summers there can almost make you forget the rest of the year. Almost.
