Several years ago, I got into a blog-squabble over whether the movie No Country for Old Men embraced and exploited violence even as it attempted to formally distance itself from condoning violence; a few years later, the same conversation re: The Dark Night. Since it also comes up in my imagined politics-and-literature course, you can rest assured I'm going to read this book.
