Alright already: After having read seven or eight excellent reviews of David Foster Wallace's new/last book, most especially this one from Salon and a look at DFW's collection of self-help books, I have broken down and ordered The Pale King.
No, I have not finished Infinite Jest yet. Yes, I am still around page 600. No, I don't know when I will finish it; the summer maybe? Yes, I have read like four other novels in the intervening couple months so that I do not yet have to go back to it. Yes, I will probably read The Pale King before I finish Infinite Jest.
Yes, I have read an unusually large number of books in excess of 1000 pages. Yes, I did write my dissertation about one of them. Why do you keep suggesting that this fact has something to do with IJ?
