CRAZY BUT TRUE STATISTICS: Maybe it's just my advancing age, but 3500-word (~12 page) papers just don't frighten me anymore. I wrote one (still missing a conclusion, but also at the 3500 word threshhold) tonight in about 2.5 hours, which breaks down to about 23 1/3 words per minute, which is pretty impresssive, I think, when you factor in typing index-finger method, having to go searching on the page for the exact phrasing of quotes that I wanted, and, you know, making it up as I go along.
to wit:
"Nevertheless, the start made here is good, and the serious analysis of the structural features of totalitarian governments is mostly spot-on. But when totalitarianism is discussed, the basic question is not what type of government it is that should be considered totalitarian, but rather, why and how it is totalitarian governments come to be and govern as they do. A different, more subjective, analysis is required."
